About Visory

I’m Paulo Genargue, a software developer and a new parent in Denmark. Once we had a baby at home, I wanted to know quickly if anything we’d bought had been recalled, so I built Visory. I run it on my own, and anyone is welcome to use it.
Pronunciation
It’s pronounced VEE-suh-ree.
Where the data comes from, and what Visory isn’t
Every 15 minutes, Visory checks for new recalls from the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (Fødevarestyrelsen) and the Danish Business Authority’s (Erhvervsstyrelsen’s) list of dangerous products, via produkter.dk. Visory is unofficial and independent of the authorities, a supplement and not a replacement. Allergens, causes and stores are picked out of the text automatically, and the English versions are machine-translated, so mistakes happen. Always check the official notice.
Privacy
Visory is free, with no ads and no account. Your list (the topics you follow) is kept in a cookie in your own browser. If you turn on notifications, I store your browser’s push address and your list, and use them only to send you notifications.
Contact
Email hej@visory.dk if you have feedback, spot a mistake, or see a recall tagged with the wrong allergen or store.
