Where does celery hide?

Celery covers leaf and stalk celery and celeriac, and its seeds are used in celery salt. It’s in soups, stock, sauces, salads, cold cuts and many spice mixes, where you can’t see it.

The 14 allergens that EU law requires on food labels must be emphasised in the ingredients list, usually in bold. When one is missing from the label, or has got into the food by mistake, the producer recalls it and the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration publishes the recall. “May contain traces of” is voluntary and doesn’t guarantee anything either way.
